General Summary

Responsible for maintaining and modifying, as per process requirement, Rolling Mills Level 2 Automation system including the hardware and software and to ensure the smooth functionality of Level 2 Automation system in accordance with Rolling Mills process requirement along with integration to ESI ERP system, SAP to the correct standard safely and in a timely manner so that plant utilization is maximized

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• System availability: Ensure system availability by maintaining level 2 system hardware and software.
• Rolling Mills Level 2 system: Ensure proper functioning of Rolling Mills Level 2 functions as listed but not limited to:

      1. Level-1 interface monitoring and diagnostics

2. Models & Services (Problems recovering, Performance monitoring and parameter tuning, back-up and recovery)
3. Oracle Database (System monitoring and optimization, Security administration, Data analysis, back-up and recovery)
4. Modification of OWS and PWS as per process requirement.
5. Developing and maintaining Level 2 reports and Web page. 6] Maintenance of Hardware and Networking.
6. Software back-up & Historical data: Maintain the latest software back up for Level 2 automation systems for Rolling Mills. Ensure historical data backup and security. Database regular back-up.
7. SAP integration: Adapt Rolling Mills Level 2 software interface to match with SAP requirements. Maintain Oracle database to match SAP standards. Create real time interface to SAP depending on database trigger to achieve reliability and fast transaction.

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities required

• Fully conversant with Rolling Mills process.
• In-depth knowledge of Level 1 & 2 Automation systems related to Rolling Mills process.
• Fully conversant with WinCC HMI and SCADA package.
• Fully conversant with MS Visual C, Delphi, Visual Basic software programming and Oracle Database developer and administrator.

Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, e.g., word processing, email,

Minimum Education Qualification (Education Degree)

Any preferred professional training

• Trained on Level 1 & 2 Automation Instrumentation Engineering.                                                                                systems related to Rolling Mills process.

Professional Experience (Must haves)

• In excess of 8 years’ Electrical automation experience in steel plant including 3 years as Level 2 Automation engineer in a Rolling Mill.

Key Performance Indicators

• Meet production targets for the Company (Availability of Level 2 system for Rolling Mill, Availability of latest revision of software back up and Historical data)
• Ensure All the Level 2 functions and modules working effectively and efficiently as per end user requirement.
• Ensure efficient interface of Rolling Mills Level 2 system with SAP and Successful implementation of developments
• Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
• Maintain excellent HSE records.
